EPAL Enterprise Lab

The Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics IML and the European Pallet Association e.V (EPAL) are developing the future of logistics in the EPAL Enterprise Lab in Dortmund (Germany). The EPAL Euro pallet is the most important load carrier in the logistics sector. Many systems in conveyer and storage technology, handling and packaging are designed on EPAL Euro pallets. Analysing logistics in its entire range and creating new markets through agile innovations is the objective of an "Enterprise Lab".  In this lab, industrial experts and scientists work on process innovations to improve workflows and create new services.  Together, they develop innovations to product readiness - outside of the daily business.  In this way, the requirements of the market are enriched with creative ideas and the development of new strategies and concepts. The intelligent pallet, is only one of the current developments in the EPAL Enterprise Lab.
